Wow, that is some busy life Stuart. Sustainable? Only you know! What I've learnt from this post is that you use all your time and I could certainly improve on that. I'm a supply teacher so I don't know what's happening day to day, if I'll get work or not but I need to have a plan B where there is a protected time for writing and not just stuff to do with writing- that kind if stuff can wait for when I'm not feeling inspired. Right now, ive just had minor surgery on my scalp, so sitting in bed has given me time to draft a new picture book :).
Looking forward to the upcoming events! Well done for all that you do for WriteMentor - on top of everything else. That’s a huge achievement.
What does my writing week look like? At the moment, I’m juggling childcare during the summer holidays, but generally I have a very loose writing routine. I work part time, so in theory would have two days a week to devote to writing, but there’s child & life admin, plus chores to do in that time. My partner also works away a lot, so sometimes I’m solo-parenting. Subsequently, the writing is done in small snatches adhoc & I’m trying to find a way to improve this as it’s just not productive enough if I want to complete a new WIP. Wish me luck! 😅
Thank you for being so honest and sharing your writing life, I think it's good for people to know that you don't have to have the ordered life new writers imagine. For some people it's very ordered and consistent but for many that's not possible. And look at all you achieve and publish regardless!

A healthy dose of reality to counteract the filtered "if you don't write 8 hours a day, you simply cannot call yourself a writer", thank you!
